DC Is Becoming A Big Brew Town

While I'm not a beer drinker, obviously a large part of the drinking public is, so this, uh, not-quite-a-Bud is for you.

It's DC Beer Week 2013 and the stuff is pouring everywhere. The Post and the City Paper have day by day lists for what ales ya (couldn't help myself). There will be tap takeovers, food and beer pairings, you name it - it will be served with beer this week.

Don't miss the Half St fest after the Nats game on Thursday or the NoMa outdoor beer fest on Saturday.

To all my beery friends, go forth and be frothy.

Drink & Food Festival Season in Full Swing

The lazy non-cooker in me is always looking for a party with a purpose - food - and summer is almost nonstop food festival time. I've missed so many already, but not to worry. The DMV has plenty of wine, crab, beer and street fests to go around. This coming weekend is Drink the Districts 'Red, Wine and Brew' bubbling up outside of Nationals stadium in Yards Park. 

Broken up into three 4 hour sessions, $45 (or $35 if it is the last session ) gets you unlimited American beer and wine.  Pair that with live music and the ever present food truck experience and you've got it - party time.

It's an all-out hog-out with your favorite Food Network stars in Atlantic City. The Food Network Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival provides four  days of tasting and sipping events including the ultra shi-shi-poo-poo thousand dollar private dining experience with chef Marcus Samuelsson. 


You still have time to grab a travel package at $785 and up (which will get you into the sold out Neely Gospel Brunch) or go a la carte for individual events that start at $30. It's a great way to hang out at the shore, make the rounds at all of the casinos, and of course satisfy your epicurean urges. I certainly would have gone this year had I not bought theatre tickets for that Sunday. Ahh . . . next year.
